What Woodville Box Club offers
Comments describe a bar serving beer, including Guinness, alongside entertainment and leisure facilities. One visitor praised the way the beer was kept, while another considered the drinks reasonably priced. These are individual impressions rather than a current price list, so anyone comparing prices for a night out in Swadlincote will need to check what is available at the time of their visit.
The venue is also used for events. A spacious function room has hosted an 18th birthday party, and the upstairs bar provided a setting for a film-premiere evening. For organisers looking to book a function room in Swadlincote, Woodville Box Club is an option to enquire about. Availability, room arrangements, hire prices and any conditions for private events should be checked with the venue before plans are finalised.
Entertainment mentioned by reviewers includes karaoke and live performances. The comments do not establish a regular schedule, so people hoping to attend a particular event should confirm dates and entry details in advance. The club’s combination of a bar, entertainment and games may appeal to those seeking a relaxed local gathering place rather than a formal night out.
Entertainment, games and celebrations
Visitor comments point to a varied mix of activities and spaces. The facilities mentioned include a snooker room, a pool table, a darts board and an outdoor seating area. The upstairs bar has also been used for a special event. Availability and access to individual spaces may depend on the day or a private booking, so event organisers and casual visitors should confirm what will be open.

What visitors say about the experience
A recurring positive point in the comments is the staff’s manner. Visitors describe the team as friendly, helpful and welcoming. One person attending a film premiere said the venue was accommodating to guests’ needs, while another recalled cheerful, polite service at the bar. These accounts suggest a personal, community-oriented atmosphere, although individual experiences can vary.
Several reviewers value the relaxed social side of the club. Karaoke, live entertainment and games add options beyond sitting at the bar, and one visitor described the venue as suitable for both children and adults. Another called it a friendly place for a night out and said they had not seen any trouble during their visits. That is one person’s impression, not a guarantee about every event or evening.
There are also maintenance concerns in the feedback. One review said the upstairs areas would benefit from investment and mentioned the toilets, stairs and hallways as being in poor order. Another considered the function room a good party venue despite feeling it could use redecoration. These comments are useful for anyone weighing atmosphere and value against the condition of some parts of the building.
Practical information before a visit
Opening hours are not available in the information provided. Visitors planning a casual evening should confirm opening times and check whether karaoke or live entertainment is scheduled. Since event dates and arrangements are not listed, a direct enquiry is the most reliable way to avoid arriving when a private function or different programme is taking place.
For a birthday or other gathering, booking ahead is sensible. Organisers can ask about function-room availability, hire prices, capacity, permitted decorations, catering arrangements and whether the bar or other facilities will be open to the group. People considering the venue for a family event can also check age-related arrangements and which spaces are suitable for children.
The address places Woodville Box Club on High Street in Woodville. The available comments do not confirm parking facilities, step-free access or the current condition of the upstairs areas. Since one visitor specifically mentioned stairs and hallways, people with mobility needs may wish to ask about access before attending, particularly if an event is planned upstairs. Nearby parking details should also be checked rather than assumed.
